The Office of Professor Munjed Al Muderis
Restoring mobility. Redefining what is possible.
Pioneering orthopaedic surgeon. Global leader in osseointegration. A surgical practice across four continents and a humanitarian mission that reaches the whole world.
- 1,000+ Osseointegration patients
- 30+ Countries reached
- 20+ Years in practice
From refugee to the surgeon the world turns to when it is told nothing more can be done.
Born in Baghdad and trained as a surgeon, Munjed Al Muderis fled Iraq rather than follow an order to mutilate prisoners. He arrived in Australia by boat, was held in detention, and rebuilt his career from nothing.
Today he is one of the most experienced osseointegration surgeons in the world: implanting prosthetic limbs directly into bone so that amputees walk again without a socket. His patients include war veterans, landmine survivors, and people from more than thirty countries who had exhausted every other option.
He remains an engineer at heart: a designer of surgical devices, holder of multiple patents, professor, author, and a voice on the world stage for the possibility of a second chance.
“I do not believe in the word impossible. I believe in the word not yet.”

One practice. Five centres. No borders.
Patients are assessed remotely and treated at the centre closest to them, or wherever their case is best served. The Office coordinates assessment, travel, accommodation and rehabilitation across the network so that every journey is seamless.
One surgeon. Five spheres of influence.
The Office exists to bring these together, and to open the right door for the right partner.
